The following questions are frequently asked during the conception and planning of LED facades:

What are the power requirements of a high-power LED lighting strip?

The high-power LED lighting strips currently produced and implemented by Multivision require 1.0 to 2.0 operating Watts per LED. Power output is adjustable with the lighting ballast in 0.1 Watt increments.

What are the different LED lighting strip designs that are offered?

There are basically two types: the single line and duo line. The single line is very compact on the one hand. On the other hand, the electronic lighting ballast can be freely positioned externally. The duo line is somewhat larger and is equipped with two rows. A huge advantage to the duo line is that the lighting ballast is already integrated in the profile and everything is therefore ready to plug in.

What are the different LED lighting strip dimensions?

Multivision offers both the single line and duo line in standard length and with standard components. Custom lengths and components can be produced on request.

Single line: W = 45 mm, H = 30 mm, L = varies

Duo line:    W = 80 mm, H = 90 mm, L = varies

How are the lighting strips controlled and programmed?

Multivision LED lighting strips control special LEDCOM lightings ballasts. Every lighting ballast has a unique address and is thus selectively targeted. Control occurs over a RDM bus. Sequencing programs for shows or still images are programmed by Multivision and stored on a recorder from which the facade lighting is operated (for example, by machinery and equipment engineers or the concierge).

Which dimensions illuminate high-power LED lighting strips?

Using a wide variety of special lenses, Multivision adapts the LED lighting strips to meet individual requirements. Twelve meters is considered the maximum height of LED lighting strips (using reflectors).

What kind of materials/glass should be utilized for prefixed glass facades?

Structured or printed glass is most suitable for prefixed show facades because they optimize the surface effect of the light in comparison to clear glass panels. The color of the Thermofacade is also an important factor for the overall effect of the LED facade.

What should be the distance between the show facade and Thermofacade?

The distance between both facades is essentially flexible. The LED lighting strips can be individually installed and mounted according to the unique structure and construction. For larger projects, it is advisable to create a model of the planned facade in advance and conduct a sampling.

What does a typical project sequence look like?

First, a lighting concept is created together with the lighting designer. Multivision presents a visualization to the customer. Subsequently, a detailed plan is created together with the facade contractors. In doing so, both the substructure and mounting of the lighting system are taken into special consideration and addressed accordingly. The LED lighting strips are mounted by an electrician. Multivision is present on location for commissioning and implements the display programming to meet the requests of the customer.

Who delivers what?

Multivision delivers the know-how and materials for the facade lighting and usually conducts the display programming. Multivision is in the position to provide lighting solutions from a single source - From project planning the production of the high-power LED lighting strips, lighting ballast to production, commissioning, and programming.

What are the extra costs associated with a LED facade beyond a "normal" facade?

This depends on the scope of the project, the desired effect, and the type of design.
